HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — Four people are displaced after a fire in Henrico on Friday.
Crews were called to the scene in the 1400 Block of Chickview Drive at 11:05 a.m. A neighbor had called after seeing flames shooting from the house next door.
Crews were on scene minutes later and first arriving units reported seeing heavy smoke and fire showing. Crews immediately started an external attack on the fire, but it took time to assess the scene before crews could go inside to conduct an internal attack due to the extensive damage.
The fire was so heavy that it melted the siding of the house next door.
The fire was under control by 12:03 p.m. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Four people were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
There is no cause yet as fire officials are still investigating.
