MANASSAS, Va. (AP) – Virginia State Police are investigating after a small plane crash-landed in a wooded area of Prince William County near Manassas.
Police say officers were called to the scene of the crash just after 9 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the pilot of the small plane struck the trees and fell into a yard on the 9400 block of Upper Mill Loop.
Police say no one on the ground was injured. The pilot was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the pilot was practicing approaches at the Manassas Regional Airport when the accident occurred, and that the incident is under investigation.
