HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Henrico that has left one person dead.
Police were called to the 5400 block of Edge Field Road around 4:18 a.m. for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene to find an adult black male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead Monday morning.
Police are waiting on positive identification and next of kin notification before releasing the victims identity.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and at this time there is no suspect.
