CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — A man has been charged with animal cruelty after police found a dog left in a vehicle at a restaurant.
When police responded to a call about two intoxicated males, they placed 39-year-old Brandon Cowardin under arrest for drunk in public. He resisted the arrest and kicked the officer.
Officers found the dog in the vehicle while investigating.
Cowardin has been charged with ill-treatment of numerous animals, profane swearing and intoxication, and resisting arrest.
