RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – An armed man broke into the home of Richmond City Councilwoman Kathy C. Graziano (4th District) on Thursday afternoon while her 22-year-old grandson was at the home. When confronted by the grandson, the suspect brandished a gun as he fled the scene.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
The incident happened on the 2800 block of Westchester Road in the Willow Oaks neighborhood.
Graziano told 8News that she was surprised that the incident occurred.
“We have no crime in the area – none – zero,” she said. “This is very unusual for this neighborhood.
“I’m glad my grandson is safe.”
Graziano said the suspect was white, 5’7” with scraggly hair and a bald spot.
