ALBEMARLE, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Albemarle County are searching for a missing woman.

The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) is searching for 59-year-old Debra Marie German of Charlottesville.

German was reported missing to the ACPD at 10:15 on Wednesday. She was last seen around 2 p.m. Wednesday. She called a cab and was picked up in the area of Azalea Park in Charlottesville. She was taken to the foot of Carter’s Mountain and was dropped off at the base of the walking trails. That is the last place she was seen, police say.

Authorities say they do not suspect foul play at this time.

The search effort is focused along Route 53 at the base of Carter’s Mountain. The ACPD, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Department Search Team and a bloodhound from Louisa County, is actively searching for German. ATVs are aiding search efforts through the rugged terrain.

German is described as a white female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with long brown hair and hazel eyes. Police say a clothing description is not available.

Police ask that you call 911 if you see Debra German or if you have any additional information.
