CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The man accused of abducting a 16-year-old from Richmond in October, then another woman in Philadelphia, may enter a plea next week.
Court records now show a “change of plea” hearing is scheduled for Delvin Barnes on September 10. The court date replaces a jury trial that was scheduled for September 14. This could mean Barnes will not fight charges against him in Philly.
Charges here in Richmond against Barnes were dropped, but only because prosecutors plan to ask a grand jury to indict him on state charges after his case in Pennsylvania is over.
