HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Crews rescued two victims from a house fire at 105 South 16th Avenue in Hopewell on Wednesday.
According to authorities, when firefighters arrived they were told by neighbors that people were in the basement of the house which led them to find a male and female victim in the basement. Image may be NSFW.

The male was taken to VCU Medical Center and the female was taken to John Randolph Medical Center. Weather conditions prevented MedFlight from transporting both victims.
The female did not have a pulse when pulled from the fire, but crews were able to revive her while en route to the hospital.

Both victims are in critical condition.
The fire is called accidental, but is still under investigation.
