RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — About two dozen people, including students, pitched in to give the Hermitage High School’s senior courtyard a much needed makeover.
“We’ve repainted the tables and chairs, painting the sidewalk red and blue because red and blue are the hermitage colors,” said Taylor Gartrell, a Hermitage High School senior.
Painting wasn’t the only work done in the courtyard, bushes were trimmed and trees were planted.
“The teachers and my friends have taught me so much and they’ve given me so much that I just want to use it as a chance to give back to them,” said Gartrell.
All the supplies used during the renovations were donated to the students.
After about 300 hours of work, the senior courtyard is ready for the new school year.
