DOSWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Watching the UCI Road World Championships can get you into Kings Dominion for free!

Kings Dominion is usually closed weekdays during the fall, but the park will be open September 23 for the start of the Men’s Elite Individual Time Trial. The starting line of this race will be inside Kings Dominion’s front gates.

(Pssst, parents: September 23 is also a day that students with Henrico County Public Schools get off!)

Not only will you get to watch the race, you’ll get to ride several rides for free. A section of Kings Dominion will be open to the general public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. that day. Shops and restaurants along International Street will be open along with select rides and attractions. The Fan Zone will extend beyond the front gates with vendors, performances by the VCU Peppas and more. Parking for the event is free.

The race starts at 1 p.m. and is slated to go until 3:35 p.m.
