RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — As the UCI Road World Championships near, the City of Richmond is clearing the streets along the course.
Several areas are affected by significant, long-term parking restrictions. Those are in effect along Monument Avenue and Franklin Street from Boulevard to Belvidere Street. Also, along Main Street, Broad Street and several downtown cross streets.
The parking ban on Monument Avenue went into effect at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Dozens of cars in the path of the race have already been towed as many drivers ignored the signs and door hangers posted at least a week ago.

So what happens if you do get towed? You’ll have to pick up your car from the City Impound. And, yes, you’ll be responsible for the cost.
