HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating after a fatal crash over the weekend in Hanover.
Authorities say that deputies responded to a single vehicle crash around 8:28 a.m. Saturday on Cold Harbor Road near the Henrico County line.
According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Cold Harbor Road when it ran off the road, striking a utility pole. The vehicle continued off the road, striking a small grouping of trees causing it to overturn end over end ejecting the driver from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with the registered owners of the vehicle. Identification of the driver is pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators continue to collect information in order to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
