HENRICO CO., Va. (WRIC) — The driver of a tractor trailer was hospitalized with minor injuries after the truck overturned at the I-295/I-95 interchange in Henrico County Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the truck was traveling southbound on I-95 at roughly 2:15 p.m. when it took exit ramp 84B for I-295 west, ran off the left side and overturned in the ditch.
The trailer split open and spilled cases of cigarettes across the ground.
At 4:15 p.m., the exit ramp was closed, according to VDOT.
The 33-year-old female driver was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. Charges are pending.
