CAMERON, La. (KRON) — A Louisiana couple is facing charges for allegedly abandoning their 1-year-old daughter on a beach while they went on a miles long jog in the buff.
Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson told KPLC-TV that police received a report a baby found alone on a beach at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Responding deputies found the baby suffering from a sunburn and covered in mosquito bites.
Deputies were able to locate the child’s parents, Cody Bourgeois and Monique Bourgeois, jogging naked along the beach about four miles away.
The two adults were arrested and charged with child desertion and obscenity. Johnson said drugs may have been involved in the incident, KPLC reported.
Child Protective Services has been called to investigate the incident. The baby was turned over to her paternal grandmother, according to a report by KATC.com.
