RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It is going to be a wet weekend here over the area as all of us will see some rain.
The biggest question right now is who will be the ones who get the heaviest rain. Right now, the best area for the heaviest rainfall looks to be from the Outer Banks northwest up though South Hill, Farmville, and up to Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the models have crazy amounts of rain in the forecast—over 6” in spots.
Let’s say that those numbers are off by a factor of two. So, for right now a top end forecast of 3” of rain is not that unreasonable.
The rain will be lighter tonight and then pick up overnight with lows in the low to mid 60s.
Rain is likely tomorrow for the UCI race (and the college football games). It will be heaviest in the morning with highs in the lower 70s.
Rain continues Saturday night into Sunday with lows in the lower 60s. Sunday afternoon the steadier rain should taper off to showers in the afternoon for the end of the UCI Elite Men’s Road Race. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Monday will be partly cloudy with showers over us as highs rise in to the upper 70s.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high near 80. Another weather disturbance will come up the coastline Wednesday through Friday with the risk of shower. Highs will drop back to around 70s.
