RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The director and star of “Saving Private Ryan” have moved from World War II to the cold war this weekend.
Here’s a look at what’s new at the box office.
“Bridge of Spies” is based on the true story of Francis Gary Powers. He’s the U2 spy plane pilot shot down over the Soviet Russia during the Cold War. Tom Hanks stars as the attorney who has to defend a man suspected of being a Communist spy here in the U.S. If he can keep hips client out of the electric chair he could be swapped for the downed us pilot. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the drama is rated PG13.
“Goosebumps” imagines all of author R.L. Stine’s creepy beasts running amok in the real worlds. Jack Black stars as a fictionalized version of the popular children’s author and he has to help round up the creatures of his imagination. This movie is rated PG.
In “Crimson Peak” Mia Wasikowski stars as a writer who has just married the man of her dreams. Her life turns into a nightmare when she moves into his go gothic mansion and creepy, evil things go bump up in the night. From the mind of Guillermo Del Toro, the film costars Jessica Chastain and it is rated R.
