RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A two-day trial has been set following the death of a man at the Ambulatory Care Center at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

George Ellis Brown faces involuntary manslaughter after a confrontation with 64-year-old Phillip Whitaker in August. Brown allegedly pushed Whitaker when he tried to cut in line. Whitaker fell, hit his head and died two days later.

Brown worked as a security guard with L.E.W. & Associates when the incident happened. The company later released a statement saying Brown had been suspended pending the results of the police investigation.

Brown’s trial dates are set for January 20 and 21. He is currently out on bond.
