INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The day has nearly arrived.
Oct. 21, 2015 is a date on the calendar “Back to the Future” fans know well. It’s the day character Marty McFly time-travels to with pal Doctor Emmett Brown in “Back to the Future: Part 2.”
Over the years, some elements to the film have come true. Hover boards exist, Nike announced plans to release “power laces” shoes and movies are now in 3-D. So far, though, no signs of flying cars.
There’s been plenty of build-up to the day. Special screenings of the films have been held around the country this year, a fake trailer for “Jaws 19” was recently released and 30th anniversary Blu-ray and DVDs of the trilogy have been available for fans to pre-order online.
Some fun events are planned in Indianapolis, too. A free, Back to the Future Run will be held in Broad Ripple and the Indianapolis Museum of Art is hosting a special screening in their “Twin Pines Parking Lot.” In Bloomington, IU Cinema will show the movies for free from 1-9 p.m. in “Back to Back to ‘Back to the Future.”
Soon, Oct. 21, 2015 will be in the past. Or in the future. Whatever.
