RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Halloween weekend is full of events in the Richmond area. Some events will be a good time for the little ones and others will be a bit too scary.
Below is a list of Halloween weekend events.
Trick or Treat at the Executive Mansion
You and your kids could spend the day trick or treating with Virginia’s First Lady at the Exective Mansion. Virginia’s First Family will open the Executive Manison to Virginia trick or treaters and their parents in celebration of Halloween.
- When: Saturday, October 31 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Where: Executive Mansion, Richmond, Va.
- How much: Free
Ever seen a flying pumpkin? Well now you can at this event. Bring the whole family along to watch pumpkins fly via a large wooden tretbuchet. There will also be games, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, costume contest and so much more.
- When: Saturday, October 31 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Where: Ashwood Gardens & Nursery
- How much: Free
Scream Forest is an intense walking adventure. The walk will take you to the edge of the woods, leave you on foot with nothing between you and the creatures of the night, where no one cares if you Scream! Escape from the forest and you’ll find Bedlam House, a haunted house full of surprises.
- When: Saturday and Sunday, October 31 and November 1, gates open at 7 p.m. and the scream starts at 7:30 p.m.
- Where: 14435 Stone Horse Creek Road, Richmond, VA 23059
- How much: One Scream Forest admission ticket is $17, One Scream Forrest and RIP Speed Pass is $27.
VA Hemophilia Foundation’s Trick or Trot 5K and Monster Dash
Join the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation for a race the entire family can enjoy. Costumes are highly encouraged and treats will be given along the way. Also, not to be missed is the pre-race Halloween party with a DJ, food, and more. This SPOOKtacular race is limited to 200 runners. You can click here to register.
