Warming trend begins today

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The weather system that brought us the clouds and rain yesterday has slid just a bit farther south this morning and that will allow for partly sunny skies to return to most of central Virginia today.

The one area that might see more clouds will be along the Virginia-North Carolina line as you will be closer to that system. High temperatures today will rebound nicely to near 70 and even into the lower 70s north of Richmond. Our skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy this evening and tonight with lows around 50.

Wednesday will be a day of clouds and sunshine mixed as that coastal system to our south begins to lift out to our north and east. It will be slightly cooler on Wednesday with the added cloud cover, so you can expect highs to be near 70.

Thursday and Friday will be two very nice days with partly sunny skies and highs in the middle 70s on Thursday and climbing to near 80 by Friday.

Our next weather system will come in during Friday night which will bring in more clouds and then it looks to be over us on Saturday, providing us a good chance of rain. That system will clear out later Saturday night and allow for sunny skies to return on Sunday and it will be much cooler with highs in the upper 50s.
