RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A recent tragedy overseas is hitting airports here at home, and with the holiday travel season quickly approaching, you can expect to see more crowded airports.
Today, word of major security changes surfaced just three weeks before the busiest travel season of the year.
The recent tragic event of a Russian airline crashing in Egypt possibly being the work of terrorists, however, does not frighten Richmond International Airport traveler Sarah Ewers.
“I feel confident because I trust they’re doing their jobs and that the leadership knows what they’re doing and doing the right reviews and taking the right measures to keep us all safe,” Ewers said of the TSA.
Florida resident Jordan Funt also has confidence in traveling domestically, but he has concerns about international travel.
“You have to pick and choose your battles. I’m traveling abroad later next year that’s one of those things we are picking and choosing where we’re going we don’t want to go to Europe we don’t want to go to the Middle East we don’t want to go to Mexico. still trying to pick and choose where to vacation based on the international scene of what’s going on,” said funt.
Funt added he is patient enough to be delayed by being screened in the airport, “whatever they want me to do to be safe I’m happy to do it if it’s one hour 2 hours wait to get on the airplane to be safe all I want to do is get home in one piece you know,” added funt.
