MILTON, Mass. (AP) — A Curry College student has been arrested after a gun and ammunition were found in his dorm room.
Milton police say Darius Boodoosingh was arrested after campus officials acting on a tip searched his room Friday.
The 18-year-old Boston resident has been charged with carrying a firearm on school grounds, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. He’s also facing various charges of possession of drugs with intent to distribute.
Boodoosingh remains in police custody and will be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court.
College officials, in a statement to students, said they don’t believe there’s any threat to the campus community. Boodoosingh has been placed on interim suspension. The college says it’s against state law and the college’s policy to have a gun on campus.
