RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A weather system coming up from the south will start to push rain into the 8News viewing areas between 8 a.m. and noon.

The first areas to see rain will be along the Virginia-North Carolina line and then into Metro Richmond by 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and finally around noon for the Northern Neck to Fredericksburg and into our northwestern zones. It will be a chilly day with highs climbing to the lower 50s at best during the daylight hours.

Rain will continue tonight and our temperatures will continue to climb tonight into the upper 50s by Tuesday morning. The rain will finally taper off by late Tuesday morning and mostly cloudy skies will linger.  It will be seasonable with highs in the lower 60s.
