Community input needed at meeting about Chesterfield’s bikeways and trails plan

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Today, you have a chance to get updated and have your say about Chesterfield County’s plan for bikeways and trails.

The Chesterfield Planning Department began working on the plan in January 2014.

County officials hope to build a network of trails and bikeways that would give people safe and accessible routes to bike, walk and run for transportation or recreation.

The project is expected to cover more than 360 miles. About 50 miles of that network is finished or is being constructed now.

Community input has been a big part of the planning process.

Tonight’s community meeting will take place at Robius Middle School on Robius Crossing Drive at 6:30 p.m.

There’s another public meeting scheduled for Thursday at Swim RVA on Ridgedale Parkway. That meeting also begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Supervisors will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday, November 18.
