RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) —  Chilly but dry weather will be the story this weekend before a warmup develops for early next week.

Next week, another big storm will come out of the Southern Plains with snow on the backside of the system and the potential for severe weather and tornadoes early next week in the Gulf Coast region.

Tonight, will be clear and breezy with overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Saturday is clear and windy with highs only in the mid 50s.  Sunday morning is going to be the cold one with lows of 30-35.  By the afternoon we will be back to around 60s.

Highs will climb into the mid to upper 60s by the middle of next week with a gradual increase clouds. Lows will warm back into 40s.

Our first chance of rain will be next Thursday, with maybe a better chance on Thursday night and Friday.

Down the road, a look at the models for Thanksgiving and into the holiday weekend indicates a cold snap for the east in that time frame.
