RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — This week on Good Morning Richmond, we’re taking a look at different hacks to help you in everyday life.
Did you know there is a hack to get your ice cubes clear rather than cloudy? All you have to do is boil some water, pour it in the ice cube tray. You see a clear difference here between boiled and not boiled.
It’s a hot day, you come inside for a cold drink and you realize that you have nothing in the fridge that’s cold. There’s a hack for that! Grab yourself a water bottle that’s warm, room temperature, soak a paper towel, wrap it around the water bottle, throw it in the fridge, it’ll be cold in 15 minutes.
Ice cream — everybody loves it. It’s nice and soft when you first open it up, but it quickly loses that softness with time spent in the freezer. An easy hack for that to keep it soft all the time is to place your open ice cream container in a freezer bag.
Here’s a hack for you if you’re looking for an ice pack that doesn’t leak. What you’re going to need is a freezer bag and a sponge, a common every day, household sponge. You’re going to want to wet it a little bit, add some moisture to it, throw it in the bag and then just throw it in the freezer.
The biggest problem with buying bananas is that you have to kind of buy them in bulk. You don’t know if you’re going to eat them in the amount of time it takes them to go from ripe to going bad. Well, an easy hack for this is to buy the bananas, separate them each, take some clear plastic wrap, saran wrap, you can even use foil and cover the ends of them. This will prevent the bananas from going bad quickly.
What did you think? Any of those hacks sound useful in your home? Try them out! When you do, shoot some a video or grab a picture and send them on into ireport8@wric.com.
