RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –Richmond Police detectives are asking for help from the public as they investigate a fatal shooting that occurred overnight on the city’s southside.
Officers were called to the St. John’s Wood apartment complex in the 1000 block of Finchley Place around 12:09 a.m. Monday for a report of shots fired in the area. Within minutes, authorities discovered the body of 33-year-old Ashley Davis of the 1000 block of Finchley Place, lying in the woods across the parking lot from an apartment building in the 1000 block of Finchley Place.
Anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation is asked to call Major Crimes Detective Jamie Baynes at 804 646-3617 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens may also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
