RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham is leading his command staff on a neighborhood walk through in the Walmsley Boulevard neighborhood Tuesday.
The community walk kicks off at 5:30 p.m. today at Walmsley Boulevard United Methodist Church, located at 2950 Walmsley Blvd.
During the walk, officers will speak with members of the community about safety concerns they may have and what they’d like to see more of from the Richmond Police Department. Sector 213 Lt. Robert Marland is pleased with the interest residents have shown in dealing with criminal activity.
“I’d like to build on that momentum.” said Lt. Marland. “This walk will give us the opportunity to cultivate a healthy relationship with the residents as we search for long term solutions that will improve their quality of life.”
This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted on a monthly basis by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.
