RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Terry Allen scored 25 points with 13 rebounds and five assists to spark Richmond to an 89-64 win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night.
The Spiders (3-1) made 30 of 60 shots from the floor – shooting 50-percent or better for all four games this season. Allen has scored 25 points or better twice this season. The double-double was his first this season, ninth career. He also broke over 1,000 career points in the first half.
T.J. Cline added 14 points with five assists, ShawnDre’ Jones 10 points with four assists.
Jordan Potts scored 20 points to lead Bethune-Cookman (2-1) with Mario Moody adding 12.
Jones opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers as the Spiders went out 10-0, led 40-28 at the half and maintained a comfortable lead throughout.
Richmond entered the game ranked second in the Atlantic 10 Conference in field-goal percentage.
