(WRIC) — The cast of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” came on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night for a show completely dedicated to the new film.
‘Star Wars’ director J.J. Abrams joined cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Carrie Fisher.
Kimmel opened the show with a monologue in front of the classic rolling stars featured in ‘Star Wars’ openings. He then presented a parody of a trailer, casting the new film as a romantic comedy.
He even shared a special ‘Star Wars’-themed segment of “Lie Witness News.”
Jimmy and his team also combed online videos to find random things that sound like Chewbacca:
Kimmel’s first guest was Abrams. First, Jimmy asked J.J. the biggest question on everyone’s mind… about the end of ‘Lost.’ Though, later on, Kimmel did get Abrams to tell the audience about the first word spoken in the film:
A portion of the main cast then joined the director on stage. Fisher, Ridley, Driver and Boyega discussed learning that they had been cast in the movie. Ridley said she was in the middle of a play and Driver was on the last day of shooting with the HBO series ‘Girls.’ Boyega said that after he heard the news, he first told his father, who asked, “What is Star Wars?”
Finally, the cast squared off against boy-genius Arden Hayes, 7, in a trivia battle to determine who knows more about the ‘Star Wars’ franchise:
