RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A cold front will move into the area tonight and usher in some cool and unsettled weather over the region for the next few days.
Skies will be mostly cloudy overnight with a slight chance of some rain in areas to the north of us as lows fall into the lower 40s.
Sunday will be cloudy with occasional light rain in the area. Highs will be in the mid 50s north to the lower 60s south. Sunday night, there is a good chance of rain, especially in areas from Richmond to the Virginia-North Carolina line. Lows will be in the lower 40s.
Monday looks to be a rainy day for us with highs right around 50. Tuesday, there might be a break in the rain during a good part of the daylight hours. Highs will be in upper 50s. A front will cross from the west on Wednesday morning. Showers will be around ahead of it, but in the afternoon we will should see some clearing. Highs will be in the mid 60s.
The forecast has improved for the end of the weekend into next weekend. A storm that was forecasted to develop over the southeast is still expected to develop. However all but one of the long range models moves that system to the east and out into the ocean instead of up the coastline. If that is right, we will see fair skies and highs in the mid 50s to near 60.
