(WRIC) — The Black Friday shopping rush has come and passed, but now the focus shifts to Cyber Monday deals.

According to the National Retail Federation, more than 121 million people are expected to shop online on Cyber Monday, and there are some tips to help secure your personal information online.

One of the most important security steps is to choose a strong password for your online account.

Experts say a strong password consists of both upper and lower case letters, numbers and other characters.

You should also pay special attention to your smart phones.

More and more people are shopping on their mobile devices, but remember they’re like a mini computer and they need consistent security updates.

The Better Business Bureau says having the latest mobile security software can help keep viruses and hackers away from your personal info.

And since you can never do too much to protect your personal information, keep watching your accounts and call your bank right away even if your money is off by a small amount.

“They usually start with a very small purchase like a dollar just to make sure that it works, and once that small purchase goes through then they’re going to turn around and buy some big ticket items,” says Susan Bach with the Better Business Bureau.
