RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It’s the final day of November and its back to work and school after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, have you recovered yet? I wish I had a better outlook in terms of the weather over the next few days, at least if you’re home it’ll allow ample time to get some of that indoor decorating done, that’s a positive, right?
We are stuck in a rut with our weather pattern; a cold front that was progressing nicely dropping in from the north will now stall out just to our south. On top of this stalled front will be several waves of low pressure or storm systems that will track right along it bringing rainy weather to the region. For today, rainy and way, periods of rain, heavy at times along with areas of fog and temperatures stuck in the middle to upper 40s.
More on and off rain in store for the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. Now something interesting happens on Wednesday, the front lifts back north of the area bringing a blast of warmer, more humid air with highs climbing to nearly 70 degrees. All of this occurs right ahead of a strong cold front arriving promptly and bringing a quick end to the warmup on Wednesday evening.
The arrival of the front will also bring an end to the stretch of unsettled weather with sunshine returning to the area by Thursday and a long period of beautiful, late autumn weather sticks with us into next weekend.
