Around 2:30 in the afternoon of Monday, November 9, a young man was standing outside his apartment in the 3900 block of Handel Court in Squire Hill Apartments when a gold-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota, stopped near him. A black male wearing all-black clothing and a mask got out of the driver’s seat, pointed a gun toward the victim’s feet and demanded his shoes. The victim refused, so a second black male suspect got out of the vehicle, assaulted the victim, took the shoes and the suspects left the area toward Belmont Road.
A break in the robbery case came when the victim’s mother saw the stolen shoes on an Instagram site. Site administrators provided pictures to the police of two males who had the shoes in their possession. They were both black males in their mid-to-late teens, police said.
