RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Though the deals from Black Friday and Cyber Monday are wrapping up, there’s still another chance to shop and make a difference at the same time.
Giving Tuesday follows Cyber Monday every year to help people donate to charities around the world, including in Richmond. Now in its fourth year, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled mostly by the power of social media.
In its first two years, Giving Tuesday grew from 2,500 to 7,000 participating organizations and from $12 million to $27 million in dollars raised, according to ConnectVa.org.
The holiday kicks off the charitable season when many of us are focused on giving to others.
