RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The suspect in a triple shooting that happened on the city’s south side was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning, but his court appearance has been pushed back to Monday.
Anwar “Wawa” Phillips is accused of shooting the three people last month at Blue Ridge Estates.
One person died and two others – including a seven-year-old girl – were hurt.
Phillips is facing felony malicious wounding charge and two felony gun charges.
Police say the 30-year-old was found suffering from gunshot wounds at the Essex Village Apartments in an unrelated incident. He was transported to VCU Medical Center in critical condition.
Before he was captured, there was a $5,000 reward for information that could lead police to his arrest.
The new arraignment date is scheduled for Monday at Richmond Manchester General District Court.
