RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The suspect in a triple shooting that happened on the city’s southside had his arraignment pushed back again on Monday.
Anwar “Wawa” Phillips is accused of shooting three people last month at Blue Ridge Estates. Phillips is facing felony malicious wounding charge and two felony gun charges. One person died and two others — including a 7-year-old girl — were hurt.
Police say the 30-year-old was found suffering from gunshot wounds at the Essex Village Apartments. He was transported to VCU Medical Center in critical condition.
Before he was captured, there was a $5,000 reward for information that could lead police to his arrest.
The new arraignment date is scheduled for Thursday at Richmond Manchester General District Court.
