RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Detectives need your help to identify a man suspected of stealing packages from porches in the city.
On December 2, police say the suspect was captured on home security video taking packages from a porch in the lower Randolph area of the city. He is described as a black male wearing dark pants, a dark jacket and a black hat. Video shows him leaving the area on a bike and carrying a large blue duffel bag with red stripes.Richmond Police say you should try to avoid having packages delivered to your home if you know they’ll be sitting on your porch. Officials say you can have deliveries require a signature, or have packages delivered to your job, or a neighbor who you know will be home.
“We’d like to limit the opportunity we give people to walk up and steal some items,” said Richmond Police spokesperson James Mercante.
