RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A violent night in Richmond saw two people killed and three others wounded in three separate shooting incidents on Saturday.

Among the two people killed was a 12-year-old girl.

Two of the shootings occurred a mile apart in Richmond’s northside.

The first incident occurred at roughly 6:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Carmine Street in Whitcomb Court. When police arrived, they found three males suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was dead. The two others were transported to VCU Medical Center. One of the two is being treated for life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police do not have a suspect in custody at this time.

While on scene, gunfire could be heard a short distance away. That led police roughly a mile away to the 1600 block of Spotsylvania Street in Mosby Court, where they found a younger male who had been shot multiple times in the lower extremities. He was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect(s) fled the scene in an older model four-door sedan.

The third shooting occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the 4900 Old Brook Road in the Premier Gardens Apartments complex. Responding officers found a 12-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died from her injuries. Police say they’re looking for three black male suspects who fled the scene.

Police have not said if they are investigating any of these shootings as related incidents.

The three shootings Saturday night come after an early-morning homicide in which a Henrico man was shot and killed on Midlothian Turnpike.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
