RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department has identified two victims in two homicides that occurred Saturday night in the city.
A few minutes before 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of Carmine Street for reports of shots fired and a person down. Upon arrival, they located two victims in a grassy area between apartment buildings. One victim, identified as Jaquan Clark, 18, of the 2800 block of Broad Rock Boulevard, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third victim was found a short distance away suffering from a gunshot wound. The two injured men were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Also on Saturday night, in the city’s north side at 9:28 p.m., officers were called to the 4900 block of Old Brook Road for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they located Amiya Moses, 12, of the 1400 block of Treehaven Drive, at the rear of the building suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Both investigations are ongoing.
