RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A weather system to our west will begin to push clouds into the region today, so the sunshine that we start with today will fade behind clouds this afternoon. It will be milder than that past couple of days as we rebound into the middle and upper 50s.
Clouds will thicken tonight and a few showers are possible by morning. Tuesday will be mainly cloudy with light rain showers throughout the day. It will be warm with highs in the lower to middle 60s.
More showers are possible on Wednesday, as this system is slow to move, but it will be warm with highs near 70. Thursday, Christmas Eve, will be a warm day with highs in the upper 70s, which would break a record which is 71 set in 1988, as for the type of weather on Christmas Eve will feature clouds and sunshine with a chance of showers.
Christmas Day will also be very warm with highs around 70 under partly sunny skies and we could challenge a record on that day as well. The Christmas Day record high is 74 set in 1955. Saturday and Sunday will feature mostly cloudy skies with highs in the middle to upper 60s.
