NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A group of local wedding vendors came together for a Nashville bride who thought it was going to be impossible for her sick father to walk her down the aisle.
Jessica Liederbach and Eric DeVaughn, two Berkley trained musicians, have been on Cloud 9 since the day they met.
But in the midst of their engagement, their story became bittersweet when Jessica’s father was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and shortly thereafter, ALS.
The two aggressive diseases made the chances of him walking his daughter down the aisle very slim.
“The date was November 11 of this year, and at the time, it was only a month away and we thought well there’s a very good probability that my father could make that,” Liederback said.
“It takes so much time to plan and so much money, there was no way we could have done it before the New Year and it might have been too late,” DeVaughn added.
They didn’t have time but needed a miracle, or the giveaway, of their dreams.
The two lovebirds entered a contest for a free wedding by simply telling their story.
The couple crossed their fingers, and hoped for the best.
Their wedding quickly went from local to international with vendors from all over the world jumping in.
Every aspect of the day was donated.
Those who gave away their services felt the couple gave them something priceless in return.
“Her parents were sitting in this leather arm chair and Jessica went and kneeled down between them and her mom started to cry and her dad leaned over and wiped the tears away from her eyes and I just absolutely lost it,” photographer Abigail Bobo said.
Modern Vintage Event planners Jessie Pinson and Becca George added, “It was amazing. It was. We were really surprised just how easily it all came together. To get that many vendors involved and donating their time and their services is no small feat.”
“We were just so lucky,” says Liederbach. “I mean it was just the most perfect beautiful fall day. The leaves were blowing and it was warm and no one was uncomfortable. It was perfect.”
The wedding was held at Homestead Manor in Thompson’s Station with vendors from Nashville and beyond donating every aspect of their big day.
