RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department has released the identification of the victim of a homicide that happened on Saturday in Richmond’s north side.
Police were called to a school playground on 1st Avenue for a report of a person down. Reports say 22-year-old Kempton D. Moore, of the 3500 block of 1st Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death was a fatal gunshot wound.

“That photo was taken shortly before Mr. Moore’s death and shows what he was wearing that night,” said Sgt. Rick Edwards with the Major Crimes Unit. “We are looking for any information that could help us to reconstruct the hours and events leading up to the shooting.”
