We will see plenty of clouds today but the sunshine will mix through at times making for a decent afternoon.  It will be a warm day with highs approaching 75 in many areas.  Clouds will settle back in across the region tonight as a weather system drops in from the north.  This will bring us a few showers for the morning commute on Monday.

Monday will be cloudy with light rain developing throughout the day and it will be much cooler with highs from 55 to 60.  A surge of warmer air will push back into the region for Tuesday even though we will have lot of clouds and more rain, we should climb to the upper 60s to near 70.  This system will be slow to depart so we will have the risk of more showers for central Virginia on Wednesday and it will be cool with highs in the upper 50s to near 60.  Any lingering showers will end Thursday morning and we will see some improvement to our weather as partly sunny skies returns to the region for the second half of the day with highs around 60.

New Year’s Eve night, looks to be clear to partly cloudy and cool with temperatures in the upper 40s when we ring in the New Year at midnight with our overnight lows dropping into the lower 40s.  New Year’s Day will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 50s.  Looking ahead to the first weekend of 2016, partly sunny skies will be with us for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the middle to upper 40s, which is where we should be for this time of year.
