RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday for the young man killed on Christmas Eve in Richmond.
Police said 18-year-old Trequan Holmes was shot and killed on North 29th Street. His shooter is still on the run.
The vigil was held at Mount Olive Church, where family and friends lit candles in honor of Holmes, sharing stories of his life and praying for peace in Richmond.
“I hope we can come together as one and stop all the shootings and all the violence. Just put the guns down and stop all this violence in our city,” said family friend Angela Brown.
City council member Cynthia Newbille was in attendance, as well as Richmond police officials and religious leaders in the city.
