RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It is a cold and blustery morning and you will certainly need all of the winter gear this morning as we have temperatures in the teens to near 20, but the wind chills are in the single digits in many areas.
We will see sunny skies today and the winds will be strong until the mid-afternoon when they will finally subside. Our high temperatures will struggle to reach 35 in many areas. It will be clear tonight and very cold with lows in the upper single digits north and west to near 15 in the city of Richmond.
Wednesday will be a little bit better with the sunshine continuing and our highs rebounding into the middle 40s, which is near normal for this time of year.
We will finally climb back to near 50 and slightly above on Thursday with partly sunny skies.
A weak weather system will approach on Friday, bringing us a chance of rain showers with highs around 50. That system will depart for Saturday but another system will be approaching so we will be in between two systems, and have a mixture of clouds and sunshine.
Those clouds will thicken Saturday night and rain will develop late Saturday night and early Sunday. Showers will linger into early Sunday afternoon.
By Monday and Tuesday partly sunny skies will return and our highs will dip back into the 40s.
