RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Temperatures are in the teens this morning with a light breeze so you will need to make sure that the kids are bundled up at the bus stop again with the heavy coat, gloves, hat and scarf.

It will be a sunny day and temperatures will get closer to normal as we push into the lower 40s across most of central Virginia. It will be clear tonight with lows in the middle to upper 20s.

Thursday will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 40s.

Some good news for Friday as the weather system we were watching is weakening and pulling off into the Ohio Valley, so we will see more of a mixture of clouds and sunshine to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 50s.

Saturday will be milder with highs in the upper 50s, but clouds will thicken up during the afternoon ahead of our next weather system. Rain will develop Saturday night and last into early Sunday.

By Sunday afternoon, we might see some sunshine returning and it will be very mild with highs in the middle 60s.

More sunshine is expected for Monday with highs around 50. A weak Alberta Clipper system will pass by later Monday night and early Tuesday this will bring us our next shot of colder air, as highs will be in the lower 40s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
