RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — We have some light drizzle this morning as a weather system is approaching our region.
The bulk of the rain, from that system, will pass by to our north and west it looks like we might have to deal with a few passing evening and nighttime showers. It will be cool today with highs only around 50. Our skies will be mainly cloudy tonight with lows in the lower to middle 40s.
Any breaks of sunshine early tomorrow morning will quickly fade behind clouds as another weather system comes our way. This system will be a lot stronger and bring us rain starting by Saturday evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and then that rain will become steady to heavy at times into Sunday morning. The rain will taper off between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday and we might even get some late day breaks of sunshine. It will be milder this weekend with highs in the upper 50s on Saturday and middle 60s by Sunday.
Our skies will clear out and it will turn much cooler for Monday with highs in the upper 40s under partly sunny skies.
Tuesday will be a seasonable day with highs in the upper 40s under partly sunny skies, but our next weather system will cross through the region Tuesday evening. This system is an Alberta Clipper, a fast moving system usually with limited moisture, which this will have. However, it will usher in our next shot of much colder air for the middle to end of next week.
Wednesday will be partly sunny, windy and cold with highs in the upper 30s.
Thursday will remain chilly with sunshine and highs around 40.
By Friday our temperatures will moderate back to near normal with sunny to partly sunny skies.
