Officials recovered 7 guns at Richmond airport in 2015

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Officials say they stopped seven guns from getting through security checkpoints at Richmond International Airport last year.

The Transportation Security Administration said this week that seven firearms were found in carry-on bags in Richmond in 2015. That’s the same number of guns that officials recovered in both 2014 and 2013.

Travelers with proper permits who want to bring their firearms on their trip are required to pack them in their checked bags.

The TSA says it screened almost 2 million passengers at the Richmond airport last year.
