HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead following a shooting at an apartment complex in Henrico County Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred in 2700 block of Byron Street at the Glenwood Farms apartment complex. When police responded to reports of a shooting, they found an adult male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Neighbors tell 8News they heard roughly 12 shots fired Wednesday afternoon. A woman told 8News reporter Matthew McClellan she watched as medics pulled the victim from behind the driver’s seat of a bullet-riddled black SUV that had its driver and passenger side windows shot out.
Police are still in the preliminary stages of their investigation and have not identified as a suspect.
